On the waste in modern computing.

Computing is synonymous with calculation. In earlier times, it referred to computations performed by human computers and, later, by mechanical computing machines. The transition to silicon-based hardware and software systems has increased global resource extraction and fossil fuel energy consumption. These resources are often used to produce new hardware designed to be difficult to repair and planned for obsolescence, while modern software frequently consumes far more energy than necessary. These pages aim to bring a more resilient and regenerative approach to some branches of modern computing.

We should be designing for a finite world.
